Gleb Mikhailovich Vyatkin (1934—2021)
Gleb Mikhailovich Vyatkin was born in 1934 in the city of Perm. In 1955 he graduated from the Perm Music College, violin class. In 1966 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial School named after. V. I. Mukhina (now the Stieglitz Academy, St. Petersburg).
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1971.
Works by G. M. Vyatkin are in the collections of the State Russian Museum in
St. Petersburg, at the Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) in Moscow, the Perm Art Gallery, at the Saratov State Museum. A. N. Radishchev, in the Krasnodar Art Museum named after. F. A. Kovalenko, in the Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts. I. I. Mashkov, in the Surikov Foundation in Madrid, as well as in more than 50 private collections in Russia, USA, Germany, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Bolivia. Participant of more than 60 exhibitions in Italy, Spain, Germany, Moscow. His works have been published in many publications, including 14 of his works published in the Spanish catalog “50 years of Soviet art” (50 años de arte soviético) along with such names as N. Goncharova, V. Kandinsky, M. Larionov, A. Rodchenko, A. Lentulov, etc. As a monumentalist, he is the author of monumental objects in Volgograd, Perm, Izhevsk.
Many monumental works were created by the artist in Italy. For the fresco "Motherhood" in the Italian city of Cibiana di Cadore, he received the Great Titian Gold Medal. Awarded a medal from the Italian Renaissance Foundation for his contribution to art. He is a holder of the Order of the Tsaritsyn Muse. His works were published in albums dedicated to the artist’s work in 2007, 2014, 2019 and in the album “Gleb Vyatkin and Pyotr Zverkhovsky in the project “Jack of Diamonds.
