Taran Marina

Biography

My name is Marina Valerevna Taran and I was born on March 16th 1975 in the town of Gremikha, Murmansk region.
From 1995 to 1996 I studied at the School of Clothes Design in Saint-Petersburg to be a fashion designer.
From 2009 to 2014 I studied at the Metropolitan Academy of Finance and Humanities, Department of Design.
I am an artist specializing in applied arts, working with batik printing technique (textile dyeing), drawing, as well as different as different eco projects, including use of recycled materials, metal work, woodwork, leather work. I am an initiator and a member of jury of an interregional contest for young fashion designers “Namodnenie” (Fashion flood).
From 2000 to 2010 I actively participated in exhibitions of Murmansk regional artitsts (exhibition of young artists ”Dew point” (2002 – First place diploma within the nomination “Applied arts”, 2004 - First place diploma within the nomination “Applied arts”, regional exhibitions “Zapolyarye” (Polar region) etc, National and interregional art exhibitions (“Young artists of Russia”, “Russian North”, Vologda, 2003, “Russian North”, Sykhtyvkar 2014) and international projects (The First Moscow Modern Art Biennale, Moscow, 2005, Russian-Norwegian plain-air, the town of Verhnaya Toyma, Arkhangelsk region, “Days of Northern countries” in Murmansk)
In diffrent years I organized personal exhibitions in Murmansk and Murmansk region.
