Biography
Alfiya Safi is a full time artist from Kazakhstan. She was born in 1977, Taraz and now lives and works in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. She is owner and founder of "Alfiya Art Studio" since 2013, member of IWS Russia, of Union Watercolor Rissia and of IWS Russia. Some years ago she became a member of International Watercolor Society and is proud to be connected with many talented watercolor artists and watercolor lovers all over the world. Her mission is not only to promote watercolor in her country and share her pieces of art world wide but to bring the message of love and peace behind it. In her art she is telling a story about her countrymates, she depict the traditions and customs of the people living in Kazakhstan. She praise the beauty of nature in the Eastern Kazakhstan. She is telling a story about wild life and is curious about the details of everyday life. It has proven that art can bring people together regardless of race, religion, culture and distance. She speaks Russian, German, English and Greeck. But sometimes when she travels all over the world with her workshops she meets people, who speak language she doesn't know. And they are sure to understand each other without any interpreter. The language of art is unique. Every persone can speak it. Art and culture unite us. She adores watercolor. No other media gives her such an opportunity for self-expression as watercolor. Watercolor can be gentle and assertive; sophisticated and harsh fragile and nervous at the same time. She paints not because it is necessary, but because painting is the essence of herself.
