Biography

Hello! My name is Polina and I am a self-taught full time artist.
I was born in 1993 year in Moscow. I reside and work in Moscow currently.
My art is focusing in graphics, oil painting and digital art. Architectural education had a great impact on my technique of drawing. It gave me love for constructive drawing with its plastic art, forms and chiaroscuro.
I like to experiment with drawing techniques. I especially like to play with the contrast of light and dark in graphics, and of colors and details in painting. But wherever my creative path may lead me, the central motif of my work is the female portrait. This genre allows me to convey complexity and identity of the world around us in general and of a woman in particular. And that's a story that is close to everyone. My drawings concentrate on our controversial inner world - it’s full of contradictions of human nature, with it's joy and alarm, lightness and seriousness, power and fragility.
Sometimes I also like to get out of girl’s portraits to plots that allow me to play with characters and subjects like in sandbox. It can be animalism or still life for example. It’s interesting to see to my pictures open for myself some world’s details with every new work. I can’t behold this world being completed right now. It is reassembled piece by piece like a puzzle game.
I try to capture all this aspects in my creativity and share it with you, dear viewer.
