Biography
My name is Yulia, a self-taught artist from Ulyanovsk, creating pet portraits and animal studies in a unique author's manner. My works are not just images, but an exploration of archetypes and visual diaries of states.
Style: I work at the intersection of Expressionism, Post-Impressionism/Fauvism. My characters are devoid of unnecessary details - through a restrained palette, silhouettes and concise forms, I strive to convey the essence of character, not external resemblance.
Source of inspiration: My main inspirations and muses are my four cats, as well as street cats met during short walks. My creativity is inseparable from life with bipolar disorder. In hypomania, rapid, energetic series of studies are born. In periods of calm - deep, contemplative images. Each work is a cast of the inner world, a documentation of the state of consciousness.
Philosophy: I transform the raw energy of mental states into aesthetic objects. My cats are archetypes of independence, grace and detachment, frozen in a moment between being and non-being.
