Biography
Vladimir Gusev was born in the Moscow suburb of Orekhovo-Zuyevo in 1957. His father, Sergei Mikhailovich Gusev (1927-2009), an Honored Artist of Russia, who belongs to the legendary generation of socialist realist artists, played a huge role in the formation of the artist. Under his guidance, Vladimir Gusev learned the intricacies of the art of painting from childhood.
Shortly after graduating from the renowned Moscow Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (where Vladimir studied under the guidance of such famous teachers as Professor V.G. Tsyplakov (Honored Artist of Russia) and Associate Professor V.N. Zabelin, who raised entire generations of Russian artists), Vladimir became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (since 1983) Vladimir Gusev's works are exhibited in many leading European galleries such as Galeria Duran (Madrid, Spain), Petley Fina Art Gallery (London, UK), etc.
