Arkhangelsk Mikhail Valentinovich (Nov 4, 1937 – Dec 2, 2006)

Was born Nov 4, 1937 in Krasnodar.

In 1963 has graduated from the Krasnodar Art College, was an listener at the Leningrad State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of I.E. Repin, nowadays St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of I. E. Repin at faculty of painting in art studio of the national artist of the USSR Andrey Mylnikov.

The member of the Union of Artists of USSR since 1975.

The modern art critics called Mikhail Arkhangelsky the master of color and light. The most part of life artist has lived in Krasnodar.

Нe regularly worked at Art dachas – in the Goryachiy Klyuch, on the "Academic dacha" named by I.E. Repin. Loved to work in Gelendzhik, spent much time at his dacha in Sochi. Often made trip to Koktebel, Gurzuf, Vishny Volochek, Slavyansk-na-Kubani. With national painter Valentin Mordovin got a long trip to the Russian North, often visited Kabardino-Balkaria.

In 1990 he went to Greece, where he lived for six years. He also worked in Bulgaria, Cyprus. All these places are show on his paintings.

Member of art exhibitions since 1968: Foreign (Germany, Greece, Bulgaria), the international, all-union, national, regional, territorial and personal.

Mikhail Archangelskiy was not only a master of painting. He was a poet and philosopher - his poetic heritage has number of unpublished poems, which are continuation of painting.

His paintings are stored in the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named by F.A.Kovalenko, the Krasnodar Regional Gallery of the Fine Arts, the Sochi Art Museum, the Timashevsk museum of Stepanov's family, the Art gallery of Korenovsk, the other museums of Russia, in number of educational institutions of Krasnodar Krai, in private collections in Russia and abroad.

Has died Dec 2, 2006 in Krasnodar.
