Biography

Starovoitov Vladimir Savelievitch, member Federation of Artists, was born in Saratov (Russia), graduated from geophysical department, geological faculty of Saratov State University. Worked in the company “Saratovneftegeophysics”. For two years he lived and worked in Baghdad (Iraq). In addition Vladimir Starovoitov traveled over Ural, the Caucasus, the republic of Central Asia, the Crimea, Ukraine, Byelorussia, traveled all over from the Volga and to Leningrad. He has been to many countries of Western Europe. The artist visited the following museums: Louvre, de Orce in Paris; museums of Amsterdam, galleries of in Florence, museums of Rome and Vatican, Helsinki and Stockholm; the Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg; art galleries of Tashkent, Kiev, Baghdad. Repeated visits to Tretyakov art gallery, Pushkin art Museum in Moscow, Saratov art Museum and others has become a very good school of painting perception, led to his own creative work. Vladimir Starovoitov has always been painting, from 1985 started painting in oil. He read a lot of literature about painting technique (A.V. Vinner, A.I. Laktionov, B.V. Ioganson and others), gained practical experience. Vladimir Starovoitov had ten personal exhibitions in Saratov and Engels, besides, took part in regional, town exhibitions. The governor of Saratov region P.L. Ipatov presented the artist Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov athis anniversary his portrait made by V. Starovoitov. There are two big icons made by V. Starovoitov in Troichkii cathedral in Engels ( Kazan and Kikkskaya), in StolypinskiS centre in Saratov there is a portrait of Stolipin, in Gagarinskii museum – a portrait of an architect A.M. Salko.Works are in private collections in Saratov, Moscow, St. Petersburg, in the United States, Canada and Ireland.
