Biography

Maximillian Honderflenik is a contemporary hoax artist who began his career with graffiti and street art. Influenced by such masters as Picasso, Basquiat and Van Gogh, he creates emotionally intense works, abstracting and distorting human images with the help of a bright palette and comic book elements. The artist deliberately avoids rigid stylistic frameworks, preferring to work in oil on canvas and focusing on content that allows the viewer to decipher the deep, often sad, emotional connotation on their own.
