There are two favorite styles of A. Semushin - surrealism and expressionism organically connected in this work. Vigorous dynamic drawing makes the painting very temperamental, and at the same time, it features a sharp psychology. It seems that not muzzles of animals are shown on the canvas but human faces. The high degree of stylization in the image of horses doesn’t conceal but exacerbates this psychology. Emotionality of the work, its dramatic glow is intensified with colors. The artist abandons the soft natural colors, preferring subjective intense red like he did in most of his works.
