Semushin Alexander. "Dali, who became cyborg, accompanied by the fish and rhino, examines artifact found in the nameless desert"
This painting fulfilled to one hundred anniversary of S.Daly and is devoted to famous Spanish artist who influenced the A.Semushin’s creative work a lot. This painting worked in manner of classical surrealism in this catalogue is explained also by the fact that it allows to feel the contrast and difference between classic and trannsurrealism. Classis surrealism, a century after the style appearance, as a rule, is the part of postmodernism. Postmodernism doesn’t suppose genuine sense-making, understanding of senses, opening secrets – it only plays in all of these things. The essence of postmodern surrealistic plots corresponds more not with the reality, both ignoramus or out-of-empiric, than with reflection about surrealism itself. Here come from cites, paraphrases of already created, opened, experienced. For example, in this work biomorphic creature are borrowed from Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. Dalian mystic desert, mysterious artifact in the centre, biomorphic creatures on long Dalian legs intrigue, but it is, to say more exactly, game of artist’s mind in higher degree than the real attempt to solve the secret.
