This painting is not the story of glorious victory of torero, it is transsurrealistic story about tragic end of another corrida participant – as it is known, the bulls of Iberian breed are taken for it. In corrida, the victory of one participant means, as a rule, the death of another. The dramatic effect of the plot appears at the expense of the bull’s image at the centre. He hasfallen down at the front legs, hot flame goes out of his mouth. Black aura around his figure symbolizes death, which is topic which interests the artist very much. The level of painting stylization is maximal, at the border with full abstraction, so it is seen only while attentive viewing. Torero, as conditional as possible, on the left, is painted by several color strips. This painting is approval of the fact that, despite of their abstractness, there is not refusal from figurativeness in the paintings of Semushin. His abstractions are quite rich in content and speaking.
