As it is known, unusually sophisticated associative mind of surrealism’s maitre, S.Dali, was disposed to unpredictable and paradoxical visual and semantic associations, which became a material for the whole range of his paintings: “Apparition of the Face of the Aphrodite of Knidos”, “The Infanta Margarita of Velazquez Appearing in the Silhouette of Horsemen in the Courtyard of the Escorial”, “Apparation of face and Fruit Dish on a Beach). On these pictures, images as thought hide and, at the same time, appear from another images. Contours of one object hidden in lines of another object, visible to attentive spectator, create new senses. This method is used by A.Semushin in this work. Transsurealistic silhouettes of Shakespeare’s personages are “hidden” in hardly visible, expressively violent face, showing sharp emotion, which gave the name to the picture. Let us mark that Dali’s play of optic effects, sophisticated plots with many differently far planes and interaction between them, become almost end in itself. Composition and architectonic of this work are quite laconic. Sense that is substantial part of “double” image weights upon shape. This leads to two-dimension, voided of depth flat image. Artist seek neither for optical effect nor for clearer reveal and explanation of images. The main task is not to surprise and shock but to show emotional sense of a picture, the topic of which is love and death, interpreted by human’s consciousness.
