Martynov Nikolay

Biography

Nikolay Ustinovich Martynov was born in 1932 in the village Rudnya of the Pskov area, in 1957 finished LVHPU of V. I. Mukhina. In 1964 - 1978 participated in expeditions and creative trips to Yamal, Taimyr, Chukotka, visited Franz Joseph's Earth, drifting stations of the North Pole, worked as a part of expedition of Institute of the Arctic and Antarctic at the Archipelago Severnaya Zemlya.

In 1981 he was elected the Full member of the Geographical society USSR at Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1998 the London international biographic center awarded an honorary title "The person of year", and also is included in the book "2000 outstanding people of a planet". Since 2003 Nikolay Ustinovich headed office of arts of Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts and is her vice-president.
