Artist's Manifesto
My paintings are divided into different periods, like layers on a cake. The first layer I put my paintings on the theme of the urban environment and street sketches, the second, like a cream impregnation, will be a plot composition with figures of people, and the top layer, the brightest, will be my last paintings. Expressive and rich in color, the portraits were inspired by spring, the awakening of life from a long cold hibernation. In these pictures "Melody" and "Popularity" I seemed to wake up myself and review the past lyrical series.
What makes my work unique is the graphic technique with imprimatura lining. There is texture in my pastels, which helps expressively show the texture and materiality of the details of the picture. Thanks to this, I can emphasize the main elements more expressively. In graphics, I use not only acrylic, but also potal. This technique becomes the author's, original and non-standard for classic dry pastels. A frequent theme in my paintings is the theme of family and motherhood, I present it from different angles. In the “Protected” diptych, I speak very loudly about this faceless COVID-19 restriction with QR code passes. The idea of the value of family and care often bothers me as an artist. The theme of motherly love is very significant to me now. In my paintings, the theme of home and comfort runs like a red thread; in the painting “Family Nest”, people, like birds, build their nests.
In painting, I depict landscapes, everyday scenes, houses, streets and simple objects. I consider these objects from different points of view and from new angles. While creating this, I am adding human figures to fill our surroundings with life. I really love people, their images and often draw portraits. It is important for me to show in these images my attitude to the world and to current events. Blue and white colors are often used in my series, with these colors I want to convey the purity of light and thoughts. The unity of formal and figurative composition is the main principle in the series I am working on. With my paintings, I want to say that our modern environment is unusual and you just need to look at the city from a different angle in order to see beauty even in the ordinary. I believe that in the paintings there should not be a classical concept of the urban environment, the artist should decorate and stylize it in his work. The transformation of images is very important in the paintings, with the help of it you want to convey to the viewer your aesthetic impressions of the world around you.
